History to Life
In 1928, with encouragement from Sir Henry Wigram, New Zealand purchased three Gloster Grebe aircraft for the purposes of training pilots and expanding aviation throughout the country. By 1938, not one of these aircraft had survived.
A group here in New Zealand has taken up the challenge to bring back NZ501 — the first Gloster Grebe to arrive in New Zealand. We have access to some original drawings and an original engine.
We have determined that it is not a case of if but when NZ501 will be built, and we want you to be part of this project.
